Remains To Be Seen
On Tuesday, 16 October 2018, artist Annie Cattrell will be in conversation with particle physicist Dr Harry Cliff and former Director, of the Science Gallery, London, Daniel Glaser. They will be discussing Cattrell’s commission for the University of Cambridge’s New Museums Site.
The talk, which is part of the Festival of Ideas 2018, will focus on Cattrell’s influences, primarily the visual ion trails produced within Wilson’s Cloud Chamber. Those attending will have the opportunity to view historically important scientific apparatus, including Wilson’s Cloud Chamber, in the Cavendish Museum.
Cattrell’s commission, which is due to be installed during the summer of 2019, is part of the New Museums Site Public Art Programme, which also includes works by Ackroyd & Harvey, Dan Dubowitz and Simon Faithfull, and is managed by Commission Projects.
The talk will take place between 4pm to 6pm at the Pippard Lecture Theatre, Cavendish Laboratory, J J Thomson Avenue, CB3 0HE
