Latent Façade, a major new artwork by Jason Bruges Studio has transformed a new service building on Cambridge Science Park into a dynamic, everchanging spectacle creating a new gateway to the centre of Cambridge.

Commissioned by Trinity College and TusPark, the electronic work is an exploration of image processing techniques – motion detectors and cameras record images of pedestrian and vehicle activity which are transformed into a dynamic lighting display on two facades of the building.

At night, images captured during the day are reimagined using specially developed algorithms which continually update the artwork’s display.

Latent Façade is inspired by Cambridge Science Park’s work into image creation and the impact of computer technology on this.
